TOGOG weaving company has been pioneered since 1953 and managed to become an icon of Gianyar’s unique weaving and batik craft destination. Thanks to hardwork , passion  and dedication of Pande Nyoman Gede Maruta combined with the cold hands of his late wife Pande Putu Srinadi, together they have helped Balinese weavers ,opened up many jobs for weaving art workers and helped preserve ATBM weaving crafts, especially in Gianyar, Bali.

Born from a poor and humble family, Pande Nyoman Gede Maruta had a dream to be able to live a more decent life. Armed for his
honesty and unyielding attitude he began his career as a scavenger. From the results of his efforts as a scavenger, he set aside his income to equip mechanical engineering and color dyeing schools in Bandung, West Java in 1950.When he migrated to Java, he was amazed by a giant textile company called Batik Semar.Equipped with experience and knowledge while traveling on the island of Java, he returned to Bali and assembled an ATBM machine created by his own hands which was unique to other weaving machines. The name Togog comes from his admiration for the Batik Semar company in Java at that time. Where in the story of Indonesian puppet characters (Pewayangan), Togog is the twin brother of Semar. He too hope, that the Togog company can follow in the footsteps of the success of Batik Semar.
